ok so, I know I haven't posted in a while but I've been busy and lazy lol. So the department of workforce services has this rule; you have to work an average of at least 15 hours per week in a month for them to assist you in daycare, they don't take schooling into account (which is bull@*&!) and they don't look into the job you have and realize oh hey they have no control over their hours. I'm fully for regulations and having set rules, however, when the rules are so pointless that the people that apply to the rule qualifies, they aren't the ones that need help. When I asked them about this they told me, you can count school if your in the FEP program (this is the program that help single parent who have a deadbeat counter part) well I was told I didn't qualify for said program because at that time the place that I work (which shall remain nameless for legal reasons)was having a good amount of work and I was working the correct amount of hours, well when my hours changed the daycare assistance stopped, thus leaving me in a financial bind. I was then told I could reapply for FEP but it wouldn't go into effect for the missing month so in other words they were saying "oh sorry your screwed"...oh well. well I proceeded to explain to them that I was told I didn't qualify for that program because at the time I needed it I had too many hours at work, and now my child support is illegibly supposed to start up, which again would make me ineligible. the person on the phone then responded "anything else I can help you with today?" I said "well since you were no help to begin with I guess not" ...Disconnect.
I understand people in this valley don't understand single parents, we are shunned and looked down on and all I have to say to the people that think I'm a horrible person and not good enough is F*%@ YOU, you don't know my situation or what I've been through or go through on a daily basis. so think twice before you see a single mom like me and think 'ugh what a piece of trash'...PLEASE like YOUR any better .... I don't think so.
Well all enjoy and stay safe

Welcome
So to start off let me tell you a little bit about me and my son. I'm 23 years old and getting a divorce, for many different reasons, lets just say it didn't work. I have an adorable son, who can be quite a handful at times. At the moment he's 16 Months (1 year and 4 Months) and I think I'm learning as much as he is.
The title of this blog is A Single Mom in Happy Town, because where I live there isn't a lot of help for single mom's. I'm going to school, for fashion, and I'm working as well. I'm trying to figure out how to get my son what he needs as well as trying to educate myself so I can get a better job. The state says they will help me but that hasn't really been happening. My job isn't understanding and the school has very strict rules. I'll let you know all about my frustrations with the state regulations and my fight to do what is right for me and my son. Thanks in advance for reading my vents and giving me your advice.
